[/avia_table]Welcome to the Music Ministry of Saint Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church.  We are delighted that you are interested in learning more about us. Nearly one hundred years ago on Palm Sunday, Saint Anthony opened its doors for the first time to a group of immigrant Italian workers and their families. These skilled craftsmen built our church with they own hands and filled it with love and beauty.  From that Palm Sunday to this very day, we still pride ourselves on our love of music and art. I know when I sit alone in our glorious church and all is silent I hear and I see music all around me. If any church building was ever built to echo magnificent musical strains, it is Saint Anthony’s. We have hosted a long lineage of talented organists and choir directors, composers and soloists.  Today, we enjoy a working relationship with the Choral Department of the University of Delaware and musicians in our ministry boast degrees from The Peabody Conservatory of Music, Temple University, Westminster Choir College, Eastman School of Music and the U of D to name a few. We are blessed with gifted musicians, cantors, soloists and a state of the art Pipe Organ built and designed by the Italian organ firm of Peragallo and Sons. Our musicians enhance our weekend liturgies, wedding, funerals and numerous special events. Each year on the Feast of Epiphany, we present Gian Carlo Menotti’s one act opera Amahl and the Night Visitors with full costume and professional singers and dancers. We are truly blessed but we know our future is uncertain and this where you come in. We can only survive with if do not attract volunteers to nurture and sustain our musical heritage. As you read on and learn about what we have to offer musically, you may be able to lend your voice and help lead us into the future.  You are our new heritage. I personally thank you for your time, your prayers and your support and especially your prayer through music and song.   Louis Lawrence Perazza Organist and Director of Music
